Iraq is getting the hang of democracy
From AP wire reports: "The Iraqi Interior Ministry insisted Monday that none of the 625 prisoners discovered last week in an Iraqi detention center had been tortured or abused, despite assertions by American officials to the contrary."
Following the leadership of our own government, Iraqi officials have quickly caught on to the tactics of denial and disseminating false information as crucial parts of their newly formed democracy. It will not be until after the election until the populace can have their lies exposed, so this is a politically savvy move on their part. Power, it seems, still corrupts absolutely. |

Re: Iraq is getting the hang of democracy
Only absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Power tends to corrupt in direct proportion to it's "absoluteness". And have a little faith, Iraq will come along. |
