I am 100% sure curtains, pretty sure TimM, or fairly sure myself could beat you.

[ QUOTE ] OP just pwned an International Master in this game...in the absense of other information I take him over you without thinking twice. [/ QUOTE ] now that I did not know... [/ QUOTE ] "My opponent, playing White, is Marlo Micayabas, a 42 year old International Master from the Philippines" "This is too much to hope to recover from, so White resigns." If you can't master the fundamentals of reading, you have no hope of mastering chess. |

He bumped me from the B's to the A's in about three lessons by identifying a key problem with my thought process (namely, considering all forcing moves - checks, captures, and threats - before considering other moves.) Good stuff. ScottieK |

comments on the game
Tim -
Good game. Nice positional grind. I like your move-by-move comments. I do have a couple questions that I'd like to get your thoughts on: 15.f4 - I see that white's trying to gain some activity, but is 15...exf4 16.gxf4 worth it? Seems to weaken white's kingside a bit. Do you think white was worried that you would pressure his d3 pawn, and that trading off your e-pawn and getting in d4 was an answer? Does white have any alternatives (maybe a queenside advance like you mentioned earler?) 43...Qc3 - did you feel like the e3 pawn was going to drop anyways instead of playing Nxe3 here? Why didn't white play 43.Qg3 instead? Just curious. ScottieK |

Disappointing. I'd like to see concrete lines rather than vague ideas made for wordform. Your analysis is def. better for the OOT non-chess-playing community, though.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes this was exactly the point. I was hoping even OOTers who knew little more about chess than the rules could follow the game and get a taste of what chess concepts were like. Also why I used long algebraic. |
