Re: L1: AK all-in!
I don't like it. You want an AJ or an AT coming along with you, and they are going to laydown to an all-in. Conceivably AQ would call, but if I had AQ facing a raise all in I wouldn't call it this early.
Conversely, the only hands that usually would call you are annoying races like 77-QQ. Why risk all your chips on a race at this stage? I reraise to 250. |

Re: L1: AK all-in!
Eh, I like pushing if you're going to raise at all. Betting 250 will still scare out lots of hands while leaving you with a heavily inflated pot whenever you whiff.
I would usually just call here and play very straightforwardly, playing hard if I hit and not putting any more money in the pot if I whiffed. I think pushing is fine, too; there's enough dead money in there to not make you too unhappy when you're up against 88 at the end of the day. |

Re: L1: AK all-in!
i respect the play too, and chances are you're not getting a caller, but if you do, you're probably racing.
question is, at this stage in the tournament, how many callers ahead are necessary to justify a push with AK? |

Re: L1: AK all-in!
I went all-in with AKo at lvl 1 yesterday (first in too!) on PStars $27. Got called by AA in the BB and I sucked out. That's the first time I've ever done that and I hope I never do it again.

Re: L1: AK all-in!
This is a play that I basically never make. I can see the reasoning, especially when there're three straight (!) callers to the 3x MP raise. I think that a lot of people really over use the preflop push allin in these early levels, but I think it's probably right here. My normal play is to just call and see what happens, but on reflection I think that's pretty horrible :]
