rules of 27 triple draw
I'm really confused... I want to learn how to play 27TD and everything I read says Aces are high... so can someone explain this hand history from a play-money table for me? Comments on my play are welcome, as I have no idea what I'm doing, but really I'm curious about the rules of the game.
So here it is: mwnelson is at seat 0 with 940. elitegimp is at seat 2 with 940. karank86 is at seat 3 with 1520. shorty941 is at seat 4 with 1230. NorthTL is at seat 5 with 255. The button is at seat 5. mwnelson posts the small blind of 5. elitegimp posts the big blind of 10. mwnelson: -- -- -- -- -- elitegimp: 8s 8c Jc 5h 2h karank86: -- -- -- -- -- shorty941: -- -- -- -- -- NorthTL: -- -- -- -- -- First Round: karank86 calls. shorty941 calls. NorthTL calls. mwnelson calls. elitegimp checks. mwnelson takes 3 cards. elitegimp takes 2 cards. (Threw J 8) karank86 takes 2 cards. shorty941 takes 1 card. NorthTL takes 3 cards. mwnelson: -- -- -- -- -- elitegimp: 8s 5h 2h Kh 8h karank86: -- -- -- -- -- shorty941: -- -- -- -- -- NorthTL: -- -- -- -- -- Second Round: mwnelson checks. elitegimp checks. karank86 checks. shorty941 checks. NorthTL bets 10. mwnelson calls. elitegimp calls. karank86 calls. shorty941 calls. mwnelson takes 1 card. elitegimp takes 2 cards. (Threw K 8) karank86 takes 1 card. shorty941 takes 1 card. NorthTL takes 2 cards. mwnelson: -- -- -- -- -- elitegimp: 8s 5h 2h 7c 4c karank86: -- -- -- -- -- shorty941: -- -- -- -- -- NorthTL: -- -- -- -- -- Third Round: mwnelson checks. elitegimp bets 20. karank86 calls. shorty941 calls. NorthTL calls. mwnelson calls. mwnelson takes 1 card. elitegimp stands pat. (8-high seems pretty good) karank86 takes 1 card. shorty941 takes 1 card. NorthTL takes 2 cards. mwnelson: -- -- -- -- -- elitegimp: 8s 5h 2h 7c 4c karank86: -- -- -- -- -- shorty941: -- -- -- -- -- NorthTL: -- -- -- -- -- Final Round: mwnelson checks. elitegimp bets 20. karank86 folds. shorty941 calls. NorthTL folds. mwnelson raises to 40. elitegimp re-raises to 60 (too agg on a check-raise?). shorty941 calls. mwnelson calls. Showdown: elitegimp shows 8s 7c 5h 4c 2h. elitegimp has 8 7 5 4 2. shorty941 shows 7s 6s 5d 3c 2c. shorty941 has 7 6 5 3 2. mwnelson shows 6h 5s 3s 2s Ac. mwnelson has 6 5 3 2 A. Hand Summary: No rake is taken for this hand. mwnelson wins 380 with 6 5 3 2 A. why doesn't shorty941 win? I'm so confused... |

Re: rules of 27 triple draw
Presuming you were at UB, you were probably at an A-5 table without knowing it, as they spread both and it's fairly easy to make that mistake. I make it on real money tables from time to time.

Re: rules of 27 triple draw
exactly. A5 ignores straights and flushes where 27 doesn't
