No big deal, you're just a typical east coast B&M prick/nit. There's a lot of you about.

The redeeming factor of wynn is uncapped nl buyins. A limit player will not realize that benefit.

Re: My first trip to the Wynn poker room (long)
I like to have small stacks in front of me, so when I play $4/8, I usually have more red chips than most. (That would be true anyway, because I am an Undisputed Worldwide Poker Champ and I rule.)
However, you should never be having to make change. I like to have at least 50 $1 chips so that I always have the correct amount for bets. If you didn't have at least 30 or so at all times, then you're slowing down the game, and that's a bad thing. As fas as I'm concerned, the dealer was just doing her job. |

Guys: I don't know how you can say that I'm a jerk or a dick looking for trouble because I didn't want to change any red chips for blue chips. I like playing with red chips - Whats the big deal? Isn't the dealer job to deal the cards? If he wants to change my chips maybe he should work in a bank or a credit union... Anyway. After this dealer left... A female dealer sat down. I had a few whites chips by now and used red and white in combo when betting. So whats the big deal??? [/ QUOTE ] I've thought a lot about your post in the last couple of days -- I'm funny that way. The short version is that from start to finish, you made a lot of assumptions that are only reasonable if you're a child, and I am choosing my words carefully. The long version: 1.) The dealer's job is to run the card game, and that includes keeping the player an eye out for player chips in order to keep the game flowing in a manner that the card room has established as normal. 2.) Clearly -- and I mean it's as clear as it could possibly be -- this particular card room normally uses $1 chips for the 4-8 game. An adult should be able to adjust to changing circumstances, and you should have been able to ascertain what was going on. What kind of nit would you think me if I walked into your card room and demanded that I play with only $1 chips when I was brought a rack and a stack for my $200, and was a jack ass about it to boot? 3.) The only thing the dealer could have handled better was greeting you and better explaining to you why he was asking you if you wanted to change your chips instead of expecting you to grasp the situation. 4.) Your story makes you appear to be a spoiled nit. If I sound confrontational, I apologize, but I think it important to point out how unreasonable you are being. |

Re: My first trip to the Wynn poker room (long)
can someone clarify for me why you would possibly need red chips in a 4-8 game? there are 2 betting rounds which you could possibly use them, but you could just as easily use blue. and there are situations where you HAVE to use blue, this logic leads us to using blue chips. anytime i got red chips in vegas i traded them for blues immediately.

Re: My first trip to the Wynn poker room (long)
Red Chips are only usefull if the guy building a tower with his chips needs a beacon at the top.
I thought the Wynn was great. The OP sounds like one of those people who calls the dealer "Dealer", which always bugs me. |
