I am still a newbie guys, try and not be too harsh please. Where is the beat place to start in order to become a better player?

I would fold pre-flop. Post flop is good, however I tend to wimp out on the river a lot on boards like this and check at the end.

Applejuicekid, would have folded with AJ in the cutoff with only limpers? Also where can I find a FAQ or general strategy for heads up or short handed? That is where I am not that good. Thanks Alot for the replies.

Re: just wondered what you 2+2er\'s thought of this hand
As others said, the line looks good. I have no problems with p/f either. AJo is a fine hand to play from CO.
And postflop seems pretty straightforward....you flopped well, and keep betting until he plays back at you. And i like t300 on the river for value. No draws came. You were unlucky here that his kick was up there, but believe me, with this betting cadence, he has weaker aces more than stronger aces. summary= you played it OK and were jsut dealt a 2nd best hand. I get broke here too. |

I also wanted to know where can I read FAQ or stategy for short handed or heads up, I don't mean the thread but a place that just tells you how to play well short handed.

Re: just wondered what you 2+2er\'s thought of this hand
i do the same pf, but i throw down a slightly larger raise pf (yours was less than half the pot), and then if he calls then i play quite conservate assuming i'm probably beat.
but then i play on pp with their 800 starting chips so that might be a little different |
