Bad Rope-a-dope?
Read: BB seems selective aggressive, could be 3 betting light, but has been picking his spots…
Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx Preflop: Hero is CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 2 folds, Hero raises, 2 folds, BB 3-bets, Hero calls. Flop: (6.50 SB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets, Hero calls. Turn: (4.25 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets, Hero calls. I used to never do this. I would usually raise the flop or at times wait until the turn to pop my opponent. Was this the wrong time to “rope-a-dope” given the following? 1) SAG opponent 2) His pf 3-bet from the BB 3) Board texture – Club and straight draw |

Re: Bad Rope-a-dope?
Calling down seems fine to me.

Re: Bad Rope-a-dope?
I think calling and betting if checked to is an ok line.

Re: Bad Rope-a-dope?
Calling down is probably the best line here.

Re: Bad Rope-a-dope?
River is 3 of clubs bringing in the flush...
He checks, I bet... he raises... I'm thinking "man a call is weak here getting only 7:1 but then again, my line makes my river bet look like a river bluff to a thinking player" - Is this a good example of my most frustrating leak as of late... Paying off too much? |
