There is no experiment that I can practically execute to test a site for the cheat you describe. It's one of the few that would, for all practical purposes, be completely undetecable.
It strikes me that any site choosing to gift new or long lost players with superior cards on a temporary basis would profit handsomely from it at near zero risk. I hate the idea that such software cheats are available since I'm sure there are many in the online poker industry anxious to use same. |

How in the world is this untestable? All you need is the stats from when people started and compare them to the stats later. I'm not talking about how well they did but how the cards fell.

[/ QUOTE ] Theoretically, if the site gave return/losing players a healthy run of cards for 500 or so hands the sample size would be too insignificant in order to conclude that there was anything suspicious at work. Even if on the surface the card distribution for these players appeared abnormal, you would have a difficult time proving anything conclusive. A little too grassy knollish for me but I imagine it would be possible. |

So how does Party decide who wins on the Beginners Tables? [/ QUOTE ] A virtual cluster[censored] of straight flushes over straight flushes with a healthy sprinkling of quad over quad action thrown in for good measure. |

"Theoretically, if the site gave return/losing(new, not losers) players a healthy run of cards for 500 or so hands the sample size would be too insignificant in order to conclude that there was anything suspicious at work."
The test is to examine many new accounts. This requires a lot of trust in others to gather correct data. It's not impossible but you'd need to be motivated and your data set will be noisy. |
