$110 Sit\'n\'go satellite, late stage agressiveness?
I’ve played a small amount of low limit sit’n’gos online and have the general idea, however I’m not completely sure how aggressive to be late, here are a few hands from a sit’n’go last night, they're in consecutive order.
Live pot limit sit’n’go satellite, $110, 10 players, 1500 starting chips, 1st is $1050 entry to main tournament, although it’s pot limit, at the stage of these hands it’s essentially no limit. Blinds (20 minute levels): 25/25, 25/50, 50/100, 100/200, 200/400, 400/800 Villian 1: Drunk, Been very quite, very aggressive, played very few hands, doesn’t seem to be that good, has played KJo and 10Jo like aces, I think the few hands played is simply due to having a very bad run of cards ie. 92o Villian 2: Solid player, maybe a little too passive since we've been 6-5-4 handed. Hand 1 Hero 3000 Villian 1 8800 Villian 2 3200 Villian 2 folds, Hero K2o raises pot (2400) in SB, Villian 1 re-raises 600 more in BB, Hero calls all in for 3000 Villian 1 shows J10o, Hero wins 6000 Hand 2 Hero 6000 Villian 1 5800 Villian 2 3200 Hero 1010 on button, raises pot (2800), Villian 1 folds SB, Villian 2 re-raises all in 400 more Villian 2 shows KQ, Villian 2 wins 6800 Hand 3 Hero 2800 Villian 1 5400 Villian 2 6800 Hero 83o posts BB 800, Villian 1 raises pot (2800), Villian 2 folds, Hero Folds Hand 4 Hero 2000 Villian 1 6600 Villian 2 6400 Hero 96s posts 400 SB, Villian 2 folds button, Hero raises all-in 1600 more, Villian 1 calls Villian 1 shows 99, Hero busts Was my push fold on each hand correct? Should I have become more aggresive during the 200/400 level? |

Re: $110 Sit\'n\'go satellite, late stage agressiveness?
In addition, more generally what range are you pushing/potting with at the 400-800 level?
How about the 200-400 level, 5 handed? 4 handed? 3 handed? From the Button with no limpers, SB with no limpers, or BB when SB completes. I know that's a lot of variations but just a general idea would be helpful. Thanks. |

Re: $110 Sit\'n\'go satellite, late stage agressiveness?
Hi,
hand 1: I would push preflop, I have no idea why villan reraised you with JT when you clearly show that you are pot commited, with these particular donkeys you just need to prove it to them preflop to either call or fold. Hand 2: This is pretty well played, I sometimes prefer to push this hand preflop when the table showing a lot of will to call. Hand 4:Again pushign this hand really depends more on the table and how loose it is, if you think that they call down with a large percentage of hands then you need to fold. otherwise a push is okay. |

Re: $110 Sit\'n\'go satellite, late stage agressiveness?
The nice thing about winner takes all is that ICM basically goes out the window so you just need to look for +EV plays in the ring game sence (with the standard disclaimer of possibily of passing on some of the smallest +EV plays to give yourself a chance to make better ones later)
With that in mind, basically all these plays are automatic. The more likely mistake that you made is that you passed on opportunities not mentioned here because you should be open pushing a TON of hands with such small stacks relative to the blinds. (I don't have SNGPT handy so I can't really give exact ranges, but my gut tells me its wider than you think) I didn't notice this was pot limit ... that actually makes opush/folding a lot more difficult. I'm not a big pot limit fan when it comes to shallow stack play for that very reason. |

Re: $110 Sit\'n\'go satellite, late stage agressiveness?
Pot limit at these 200/400 blinds and especially the 400/800 level I reached the night before, a pot bet typically pot commits any caller, so you aren't likely to see simply a pot bet called, your likely to see a push all in over a pot bet, so a pot bet in a sense is very similar to an all-in.
My range is 66+, A7o+, AXs, K9s+, K10o+, QJs+, to steal short handed with large blinds, but my calling range is much stricter, probably too tight, maybe my stealing range is too tight? I folded the QJs hand, was that too tight? I just figured at best I was a 45:55 dog, and most likely a lot further behind. Her and the other big stack in the SB got all in pre-flop, the initial raiser who I folded to had A5s, and he had 99, knowing that I would have called, but I call or re-raise he might fold, although being a poor player he's likely still in. |

Does anyone have SNGPT handy to give me the proper pushing range?
