Re: $20/$40 QQ river laydown?
You beat absolutely nothing by this river, since every single draw came in.

Re: $20/$40 QQ river laydown?
Why did you bet the flop? Why did you bet the turn? Did you like the flop and turn cards? Did you feel your hand was best? Were you unconcerned about being (semi)bluff raised?
Clear river fold on what is surely the worst card in the deck for your already marginal hand. -eric |

Re: $20/$40 QQ river laydown?
well you're not check/folding.. that's kind of weak. There are only 3 aces out there. Playing QQ on an Axx draw heavy board OOP really sucks. Arguments could be made for giving up on the turn, but it looks good to me.

you wouldnt bet flop? [/ QUOTE ] I didn't say what I would do, and in some ways, it's not important. What is important, is understanding why you should or should not bet the flop. What were you trying to accomplish? What are your assumptions about your opponents? These concepts are even more important on the turn, when the bet has doubled and you are still in a multiway pot with 2nd pair. Why did you bet? I will say that checking queens on an ace high flop does not make you weak, and should be considered. You can see the action and then decide if you want to continue. For example, you might raise a bet from the button, or you might fold if it's bet and raised back to you, or... To get the discussion going, let me ask this: are you concerned about giving free cards? How often will the flop be checked through? -eric |

Re: $20/$40 QQ river laydown?
elindauer is spot on for a lot.
By raising in the SB, there is a chance the flop could be checked around. Also, if another spade comes up on the turn that also changes the game. I did notice this is 6 handed when I assumed 10 handed. I still don't consider this an auto bet or weak. |
