[ QUOTE ] I don't get what is different... If you view it in flat instead of threaded, everything is still the same... And if you're viewing still in threaded you are really missing out. [/ QUOTE ] standard. [/ QUOTE ] Yes. If this makes you all stop using threadded, everybody wins. |

hate it.
It just adds clutter and makes the forum less readable. |

Well, it used to be that posts that I had not yet read in a given thread were blue in color. Now, there is no color differentiation. On the main page, I can see that there are (say) 10 new posts in a thread but when I go to that thread, the 10 new posts are not identified in any way. So, I don't bother with the thread anymore and just move on.
Maybe I am doing something wrong with my preferences setting or whatever...any suggestions? |

Yes, click on the "flat" link up top-right. That's how almost everyone reads threads and it's mucccccch better/easier. There is a setting in your preferences to what to default to too.

what exactly is different for you guys on a use level? [/ QUOTE ] The main thing that is different is that when you are viewing the bottom post of a thread, and then click refresh, it will take you to the very first post. |

Thanks, Bk but even in flat mode, I can't tell what posts are new and what I have already read.

in flat mode the new ones go to the bottom. It's not the same as threaded mode where they go in between. If there are new posts click the "Jump to first unread post." link at the top left part.
