Wynn trip report, boring...
Had to head to LV for business Tues and Wens this week and got some felt time at the Wynn NL tables Tues and Wens nights.
The Room, etc... I was expecting something nice from all the reviews/trip reports, etc. My expectations were met. They have to have the nicest, most comfortable seats of any room. Think thick cushy office chairs without armrests. They adjust for height, turn and have wheels. SWEET! Tables are nice too, lots of room for a 9 handed game. The dealer tray is a little off center to the box, which was a little strange since I like the 5 seat and I am used to squaring up to the tray. The floor, chip runners and cage staff were all excellent. Chip runners were a little slow, but not bad. If a floor person would run for a rack once in a while it would help a lot, but most looked like it was above them. Wait staff, well were not as hot as the reports, nice looking and nice people, but not the ten's people claim. 1/3 NL no cap On Tues night my table consisted of 3 or 4 local regulars that were very weak tight and the rest "vistors" that had a little bit of a clue. One was a LAG, one a calling station and the other couldn't land on a "style" of play. I came in with $500 and was covered by the LAG and two of the locals that were at ~$800 to ~$1000. I floped a boat on my first hand and doubled up against TSTK. On my second hand I double again with AA vs KK, same guy both times, he left after that. I didn't really catch too much after that, had a couple of fun/interesting hands and racked out up about $1300. On the whole the players pretty much sucked. The LAG was bad and trying to buy pots when it was pretty clear the other player(s) were not going anywhere. The weak/tight nits were folding a lot. Very beatable game. Just wish my big run of cards lasted a bit longer. LOL Last night I sat the 1-3 again and played several hours building a nice stack up, only to lose it with AA vs KK. Oh well, I booked a nice profit from Tues night and only dropped $300 last night. The play was similar if not for a couple of solid players sitting for an orbit or so waiting for other games. I hear from the locals that the weekend the games plays a lot wilder and bigger. I wanted to play higher but my trip was litterally last minute and I did not have time to swing by the casino and cash some of the bankroll into bills. I did rail bird the 2-5, 5-10 and 10-20 NL games. I really regret not having time to stop and convert chips to cash... I guess I could have sat with Tues nights profit, but that would have been a little shorter than I cared to play in these games considering the amount on the table. The 2-5 game was playing just like the 1-3 game, just more money in play. The 5-10 wasn't much better, but the money was a lot deeper. The 10-20 looked like a great game, lots of raises PF and more callers than I would have expected, and 3-5 total donks that dropped close to $30K in a couple of hours. There were some very solid players in that game, but the donks more than made up for them. Oh well next time... |

Re: Wynn trip report, boring...
Nice report.
The wynn does play very big and I like to have at least 3 buyins available. The staff is not 10s like people suggest but keep in mind, a ten is relative and poker players tend towards the fugly side so you have to adjust down. The drink selection is nice so it makes up for the 7s on the staff. And it can't be said enough, NO CAPPED BUYINS. I take it you did not stay in the wynn? |
