Thought about calling down
But decided against it. Villain is an unknown Stars 3/6 player. On average, they are "ok", but a sucky form of "ok".
Definetly was going to call down if turn wasn't a K. Maybe this hand is basic and I'm getting paranoid. Um, why the flop raise? [/ QUOTE ] I don't think the flop raise is bad. I think his reraise tells you he has you beat. i agree with your play |

Re: Thought about calling down
If you're going to call down if an A or K doesn't fall I don't like the flop raise since you're a big dog when he 3 bets, and you're a slight dog before he 3 bets. I just call/call/call and bet if checked to assuming no bad cards fall off. You could raise the turn, a 3 bet there usually tells you you're beat, but you give up on that 5% chance to spike a set and I think he'll often call you with a 6 outer on the river, or if he's a donkey he'll bet it, so you don't really need to charge him. Plus there's the slight chance you get bluffed out.
Turn is an easy fold since the only sensible hand you're ahead of is A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and that has many outs. |

Re: Thought about calling down
I think the hand would actually be alot more interesting if he led a brick turn. This one seems fairly standard to me.
I guess I'd still call down at 3/6 6m if a brick hits but I really don't like paying for a showdown since if he's betting the river we're not winning very often. Edit: My line doesn't work because we're IP. But isn't there something better than a calldown on a brick turn? Maybe call flop, raise-fold turn? Save a SB when behind (versus a calldown), charge him to draw when we're ahead? |

Re: Thought about calling down
he's that aggressive with AK? i'm assuming you were raising a non-A/K/[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] turn and that's why you didn't cap the flop?
