Tunica is better than it has to be
I went to Tunica last weekend and played a ton of hours at the Horseshoe. There were a lot of low- and mid-limit hold'em games available with little waiting. The room is nice. The dealers were good. You get all the good free food you could ever want.
I just wanted to say I was pleasantly surprised at how well it stacked up to Vegas (I think the customer service is clearly superior), and unless you want to play $80/160 or higher, I encourage anyone thinking about going to do so. Just make sure to book your room early. |

He gives him the coordinates of a Bar Mitzvah where said fisherman will arrive in his boat to dock atop the clown! Don't you learn anything from TV? In truth though, it was a great trip and a great place to stay. A+++ for the Horseshoe poker room. -WT |

Re: Tunica is better than it has to be
glad the trip went well for you guys.
I did things in the 'other' order. I played in Vegas for the first time ever a few months ago after having played quite a few times in Tunica. And it was like "Huh??? Why aren't these guys practically throwing comps at me?? Isn't that what they're supposed to do??" Vegas rooms were nice of course...and the floor was generally polite and decent. But I ran into enough 'attitude' or just typical Vegas stuff to think "wow....Tunica really IS pretty good." |

Re: Tunica is better than it has to be
Tunica has the friendliest staffs around. They put a premium on service rather than professionalism. It is one of the best palces to play in the country if you are looking for a good value. Make sure you protect yourself at all times, floor rulings may or may not be correct. As a general rule in TUnica COunty the further you get from the the Horseshoe the more likley the floor is to get it wrong.

Re: Tunica is better than it has to be
I had the same experience a few weeks ago when I went to AC for the first time. I was surprised to find out I had to pay to park, and I couldn't just go eat for free whenever I felt like it. I estimate I was spending an extra $50/day there which would have been comped in Tunica, and that doesn't include the room which happened to be free for me that weekend. Games at the Horseshoe are also much, much softer. Although the size of the rooms in AC are amazing (and the fact that they can actually fill all those tables with players), I prefer playing in Tunica.

During the week the game selection drops off, but you can still get hours in. |
