low TP against several opponents
Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx
Preflop: Hero is SB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 3 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, 2 folds, Button calls, Hero completes, BB checks. Flop: (5 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) Hero bets, BB folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, Button raises, Hero calls, MP1 calls. Turn: (5.50 BB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, MP1 folds, Button raises, Hero folds. Final Pot: 8.50 BB Do you play medium offsuit connectors from the SB? I wonder if I should even call the flop raise. If villian is on a FD with OC's he better than 50% to win and I still have MP in there as well. But villian could also have TP better kicker or an OP in which case I'm drawing pretty thin. Do you generally bet out low TP against 4 or more players? |

Do you play medium offsuit connectors from the SB? [/ QUOTE ] No. I used to and then I noticed I was leaking precisely from getting sucked into situations like this. |

Re: low TP against several opponents
I think you need a bit more high card value than 78o to complete in the SB.
You had what is called relative position on the flop. That means that you could check and wait to see what happened. If someone bet immediately after you, it would suggest a better hand than yours, because they would be betting into a lot of players. If everyone checked and the button bet, then the button might have a weak hand and you could raise to try to see a showdown heads up. I would have checked the flop to see the action after me, but I would not have completed preflop to begin with. |

It has taken me a very long time to get to the point where I would consider limping this. I check the flop to see what happens. |

Do you generally bet out low TP against 4 or more players? [/ QUOTE ] I wouldn't say that completing 78o in the SB with 3 limpers ahead is always a bad play or a good play. As long as BB raises you are getting 8:1 odds on the call itself which isn't that bad. If one or more of the limpers plays really solid after the flop it should tilt your decision closer to fold. Depending on what flops, your post-flop decision is either (1) really easy or (2) dependent on players behind. If you miss completely, flop a draw or flop a lucky monster then you are in the first category. Otherwise, as in this case, you are in the second. With no reads on players I would have to agree with the previous poster and check through possibly raising late position bets. |

Re: low TP against several opponents
i always limp this, unless BB is some kind of preflop raising maniac. i don't like leading out here, though. let one of the guys in late position bet when checked to - one almost always will.
