![]() I was playing an Omaha 8 S n G last night and ended up getting blinded out coming 6th /9. I only played a couple of hands, was I being too tight? How many of the below hands approx were playable, what %? I did't actually win a pot all tournament! I think it was just a bad run of cards and so am telling myself that I didn't really do anythig wrong here because since I've started playing O8 I've actually done quite well. Kind of hard to determine why you got knocked out of a single table tourney just by looking at the cards you were dealt, since there are about 100 other factors. Seems to me that you got a decent amount of playable hands, especially considering that it was a tournament where you have to take a few extra chances (I don't know if you're aware of the differences between tourney strategy and cashgame strategy). If it was a problem connecting with the flop with the playable hands, then that's another story. Also, it really depends on how you were playing the hand preflop: reraising to isolate, raising to thin the field, limping in with mediocre hands when the odds warrant, etc.

It all depends when the hands occured. I play a sit and wait game basically until it gets to 5 handed.
These hands are VERY playable Qs Js Ac 2s 7c 3d 4d 2d As Jh 3d 4c 2d Ks Ah 6d Ad Kc 7s 2 |

OOOPS. That was a cut and past without the edits.
I think all of these are playable..the ones with the question marks might be folds depending on position or action in front. Th Tc Qd 9c Qs Js Ac 2s 7c 3d 4d 2d As Jh 3d 4c Ad 8c 5h 6c ? 2d Ks Ah 6d 4c Ad Qh 4s ? Ad Kc 7s 2 Th As 6h 3h Jh 9s Qc 9h – all in less than BB |

I agree with the other comments as far as playability in general, though the requirements change a lot as the blinds go up. Big cards become more valuable (preferably with some low prospect), suited and A + 3 small cards becomes less valuable.
