Can\'t connect to the internet
That's not exactly true. I just can't connect with a browser. I tried IE and Mozilla. I get "The page cannot be displayed" and "The connection was refused". But I can play poker without any trouble. And I have no problems with my laptop.
I installed Norton Internet Security a few days ago. I haven't had any problems until tonight, and as far as I know nothing has changed. I tried turning off the firewall, but that didn't help. Any suggestions? Thanks. |

Re: Can\'t connect to the internet
From a command prompt (Start/Run/cmd) type
telnet www.apache.org 80 and hit return. Does the screen go blank with a flashing cursor, or does it just hang for a bit then tell you it cannot connect? If it goes blank, put caps lock on (unless you've changed a telnet setting the text you type next won't appear on screen) then type the following (there's a space either side of the first backslash and no others): GET / HTTP/1.0 and hit return twice. Do you get a load of markup text returned? |

Re: Can\'t connect to the internet
The problem seems to have fixed itself. Thanks for the help anyway.
