Re: \"Best use of an Intro in a song\" Poll. Round 1
This poll is worthless without Public Enemy. They had the best intros ever -- especially "Fight the Power."
"Yet our best trained, best educated, best equipped, best prepared... troops refuse to fight. Matter of fact it's safe to sayyyy -- that they would rather switcccchhhhhhh than fight!" |

1. This list is too GnR heavy.
2. You picked all the wrong GnR songs. |

Re: \"Best use of an Intro in a song\" Poll. Round 1
once this gets going, you're gonna have to post samples to let people decide - otherwise, they'll just go with what they know...
use this to weed answers, but we'll need samples - Bittersweet Symphony was good too - but actually, some Verve songs had even better intros...hell, Nick McCabe was a [censored] genius. RB |

Re: \"Best use of an Intro in a song\" Poll. Round 1
Good one.. Those drums have been sampled more than any other song I know.
I like : Tool - Mantra/Schism (I cheated a little combining two songs, but Mantra plays more like the intro) Prince - Purple Rain Radiohead - Everthing is in the Right Place |

Re: \"Best use of an Intro in a song\" Poll. Round 1
You guys missed the boat.
I already ran a brainstorming thread. These were the ones people listed. I'm sure there are several left off. Maybe I'll add them to round 2. Go ahead and list songs you wish to add to round 2 and I may put them on. |

Re: \"Best use of an Intro in a song\" Poll. Round 1
Off the top of my head, I'd add a few more (also, I'd at least add the artist's name to your list):
"Roundabout" Yes "Walk All Over You" ACDC "Little Guitars" Van Halen Outros should be done too. That would be an even better category because artists tend to get more creative and wacky at the end. Intros generally have to be short and sweet for commercial purposes. -ptmusic |
