Item A: Alcohol
Item B: Firearms

Neither should be banned.

I do like some of the restrictions on the sale of alcohol (to minors, for instance), as I do some of the restrictions on firearms.

As do I, but I do not favor banning either one. The question was whether you supported banning either, not whether you favor restrictions in certain cases.

I was keying in on the second part of this statement, that appeared in the OP:

Both items have been banned or are banned in certain circumstances.

[/ QUOTE ]

Does anyone favor the outright banning of either? I'm surprised if anyone does.

DC Bans all firearms for use in the district and is the murder capital of America. DC has only garrenteed the possession of usable firearm to criminals.

Thanks DC...

Remember CDC as stated that there is no correlation between gun control and the stop of violence. This is in a 15 year study of gun control laws. It is a waste of time and money and tramples on law abiding citizens rights.

Its truly sad...

Agreed. I wish to restrict the sale of firearms to minors (under 18) and felons.

And just like alcohol, minors are allowed the use of firearms in a controlled environment.

But it puts the whole thing into perspective. One can argue that we are chasing the wrong danger if we have to limit it at all.
