Look who finished 7th in the $2500 WCOOP
Pokerstars made $149,400 running that tourney. Sick how much these sites make. Pokerstars must make a million a day.

What about tons of national TV advertising, computer operations and software, staff in Costa Rica and India or whatever, and probably a lot of other things?
4% rake is pretty low for live and online tournaments. |

Pokerstars must make a million a day. [/ QUOTE ] Low estimate, IMHO. If you want a better idea, go to the cash games on like 9:00 on a weekday for a nice average sample, and sum up (hands per hour * $/pot * .0025) (.0025 because stars is godly and rounds rake down) for all the little tables, and just $3 * hands/hour for all the big tables. Then throw in the sum of the entrants times the fee for all tournies that started that hour. This'll give you a rough idea of the hourly wage stars pays itself. Right now, at 2:30 on a monday, stars is running a total of 226 10/20 NL hands per hour, 251 5/10 NL, 220 3/6 NL, over 300 30/60 limit, and 280 15/30. That makes a total of 1277 hands/hour for an hourly wage of $3831/hour from just the highest stakes cash games at totally off-peak hours. I'm sure a data miner could get keep track of the rake stars takes in a full week's cycle so we could get a real nice idea. |

BTW, clever title.
Also, I assume we all agree that stars does by far a better job of taking care of its customers than any of the other major sites. |

BTW, clever title. Thanks. It's funny how we all complain, but we'll never go away. |
