Re: What is your rent?
Yea, perhaps the cost of renting/buying is similar in some areas, but for most of the big areas (i.e. Los Angeles), it's not even close. I pay $925/mo in rent, which seems like a lot, but when you consider the alternative of paying $1,900/mo for an interest only mortgage on a $350,000 condo (which is about average for the L.A. area these days), and when you couple that with the fact that the housing bubble could be at its bubbliest, renting doesn't sound too bad at all, especially if you're still young.

Re: What is your rent?
Live with my folks. Pay them £50 per week.
North West London, niceish area, beautiful park 100 m away. House has lots of rooms, but none are that big. 11 rooms + 2 kitchens + 1 toilet + 2 bathrooms + 1 dressing room. I get a lot done for me. Food cooked, clothes washed. Have tonnes of space as the house is way too big for 3 people. Downside is that my relationship with my folks is much more fractious than when we have lived apart. |

Re: What is your rent?
WTF? 11 rooms? None are that big?
Why don't you just cut the ammount of rooms in half or something then. |
