Buddy Lists (x-posted to SSH)
I posted a variation on this question to the SSH forum, but I'd really like this forum's opinion too.
I occasionally play shorthanded, but part of my problem is in identifying weak players. When playing full ring games I know what to look for: too high VPIP (I keep two lists, one for over 40%, and one for 30-40%), weak postflop play, and excessive passivity. I'm not sure what kind of players I should be adding to my buddy list shorthanded though. VPIP over 50? Players that fold or attempt to steal too much? I'm very interested in whether you use a buddylist and find it helpful, and if you do what qualifies a player to be on it. |

Re: Buddy Lists (x-posted to SSH)
I tend to look for the VP$IP 50%'s and a PFR of around 5 or so. Those guys are gold.
However, mostly I just look for people that suck in general. The calling stations that will pay you off. I also have a few real maniacs too. The maniacs can greatly improve or devour your bankroll, depending on how the cards are running on a given day. I just like playing against them because of the huge pots. |
