All in the subject. With the poker explosion we have obviously seen a huge influx of "bad" players. On the other hand we have also seen a huge amount of literature and learning resources come available for everyone.
How long before the only player left are the good players? |

Why do I see all these doom scenarios posts all over the forums for the last couple of months? Are people just exaggerating? Will it indeed dry up? Or is this talk that is already going on for years maybe?

Keep in mind I'm not saying that I've noticed a huge difference, nor am I expecting one. I just want the opinions of people who have been playing for several years.

How many players do you really think read poker books? How many of those read them carefully enough to understand them?
Most people play poker for fun, rather than to make consistent money. They hope to get lucky and win a bit. Same reason they play blackjack, roulette, or any other game. The way hold em is structured, they'll always win often enough to feel rewarded, and continue playing. Just like blackjack, roulette and any other game. Poker has been around for longer than any of us have been alive, and will be around long past we're dead. So will the fish. Hallelujah. |
