UTG allin with ATo... super on the bubble
MTT Table 4 4202892-90 Holdem No Limit 1,200/2,400
Hand Start. 31 Players left in Tournament Seat 1 : iseeo has $14,960 Seat 2 : robdonit has $21,090 Seat 3 : BLUFbiscuit has $7,460 Seat 4 : HulkLogan has $34,680 Seat 5 : TINK960 has $5,740 Seat 6 : Diese has $4,840 Seat 7 : joegio2504 has $11,660 Seat 8 : pocketaces6 has $30,220 Seat 9 : LeeHarris has $9,120 BLUFbiscuit is the dealer. HulkLogan posted small blind. TINK960 posted big blind. Game [90] started with 9 players. Dealing Hole Cards. Seat 6 : Diese has Tc Ad Diese called 2,400 and raised 2,440 and is All-in My position was like 29 or 28/31. The table had been pretty tight with just a lot of allin blind stealing going on. Top 27 are in the money and with the blinds coming to me I thought ATo was pretty darn good. Everyone was stalling, taking up the clock, hoping to outlast... I wanted to make a play here, just bad position was all. Now was this a very stupid allin to a probably easy in the money? |

Now was this a very stupid allin to a probably easy in the money? [/ QUOTE ] Depends. Would you rather ensure a finish in the bottom paying position, or give yourself a chance to win? Sorry you busted, but if you're trying to win or go deep I think you have to push this. |

[/ QUOTE ] Well for me, whenver I get in the money, I do phenomenally well and usually get to final table very healthy. Hardest part is getting to the money, the final table is a lot easier for me once I know I got money no matter what |

Re: UTG allin with ATo... super on the bubble
the thing is, you're not going to be able to get into the money without another pass through the blinds. after you post the big and small, you're left with one half of one big blind. i suppose a comeback from there is possible, but without an insane run of cards you're not going anywhere.
your last post makes it sound like you play scared once you near the money. just remember to keep your eye on the prize: you're going after first, and finishing ITM should be a nice consolation, not the goal. one more note about the hand: there's a decent chance this folds out. BB is probably just as worried as you are about bubbling, and SB has enough chips to call with any two but probably is still not looking to make a dumb call to double up a short stack. if you run into a better hand and lose (or a worse hand and lose), well, that's poker. |
