I guess it depends on if he wants total hours or total man hours. Easiest thing is probably (again, assuming he uses PokerTracker) - write a query against the Access Database that totals time spent playing. Should be pretty easy once you get the min/max/overlap logic thought out, and if you know how to write SQL against Access.
