Another 10/20 AJ hand
I get AcJc on the button and raise after one unknown EP limper. Blinds fold, we're heads up.
Flop: Qh 2d Js He bets, I raise, he calls. Turn: [Qh 2d Js] Ad He bets, I raise, he calls. River: [Qh 2d Js Ad] Jh He checks and I bet. Thoughts? |

Re: Another 10/20 AJ hand
Clearly, I think your hand is good; however, I think you most likely got there.
My guess is that you were behind on the flop against most likely KQ, QT, he might even be there with with QJ. AJ, KJ are also possibilities. JT less likely so I think. In any of those cases, I might fire again on the turn as a part value bet/part semi-bluff since I'd either have improved or at least picked up 4 more outs. |

Re: Another 10/20 AJ hand
Nicely played!
I wouldn't have expected you to raise the flop, but I like the play. It's a little hard to put him on a hand when he bets out and then just calls your raise on the flop and turn, but my guess is that he has QJ and the turn card put you ahead. |

It's no problem really. You just make sure there are two Jacks an Ace on the board, or more favorably two Aces and a Jack. The real trick is making sure the other is way ahead on the flop and turn so you win a big pot. |

Re: Another 10/20 AJ hand
Given the last two posts on AJ hands I conclude that:
-- You have given up the weak tight plan you usually tout when i am there. Nicely played. |

LOL, be careful how you toss around those dirty words here. |

The board is Qh 2d Js Ad Jh. I have AJ.
My opponent checked and called, then showed AQ. Chalk up another super suckout for me with AJ! Thanks for the comments. |

Re: Another 10/20 AJ hand
Nice catch. Runner, runner. Better to be lucky than good.
Seriously though, you got lucky but I would have played the hand exactly like you did. No matter how your opponent played the hand except for raising BTF he is destined to lose. Limping with AQ is a recipe for disaster. Bruce |

Well, he did get a supposedly reasonable and tight player to put in multiple bets on each street while drawing very thin. He just forgot to hit an A on the river. |
