[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] fine. since america has the biggest army and a semiliterate president who "ain't" afraid to use it, then all the ridiculous words americans made up are appropriate now. my bad. [/ QUOTE ] Ya, that OED thing. What a great American invention. [ QUOTE ] p.s. i am joking here. please don't respond as if i am being serious. [/ QUOTE ] Just in case you were half serious. Never can tell with you crazy Canucks. [/ QUOTE ] the oxford english dictionary isn't restricted to words of british origin. "irregardless" is a american-based malapropism combining "irrespective" and "regardless" into a new "word". it's a pet peeve of mine, and my criticism was meant as a bit of a joke. i swear i won't bring it up again. incidentally, i don't think anyone responded to my actual comment - why not sit right before the alleged bot and min raise his blinds to "test" the theory? |
