Was this a terrible fold?
Party 22.
My thoughts. He could have AK and then I am still only 55% fav. I can fold and still have enough chips to play. of course he could have had 22-JJ but it seemed like he wanted a call. Your thoughts? ***** Hand History for Game 2395778975 ***** 30/60 Tourney Hold'em Game Table (NL) (Tournament 14105927) - Wed Jul 20 15:47:43 EDT 2005 Table Table 13876 (Real Money) -- Seat 9 is the button Total number of players : 9 Seat 1: stynker (1655) Seat 2: Hero (775) Seat 3: nuruddin (820) Seat 4: jazzy45 (905) Seat 5: Puckoff2 (565) Seat 6: shab_a_doo (695) Seat 7: SimpleCindy (1255) Seat 9: Mr_Samosa (345) Seat 10: ab181 (985) ab181 posts small blind (15) stynker posts big blind (30) ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to Hero [ Qc, Qh ] Hero raises (100) to 100 nuruddin folds. jazzy45 folds. Re: Was this a terrible fold?
You have to push that sucker. He has 265 left. This is a 20$ buy in. PUSH!!!!!

Re: Was this a terrible fold?
Funny thing is, if he would have pushed I would have called in a second. His 300 raise leaving him with 265 looked very much like he wanted a call.

Re: Was this a terrible fold?
Well shoot, this is just wierd.
He doesn't minreraise, so it isn't INCREDIBLY suspect -- on the other hand, he raises enough to leave himself just 265 behind, obviously pot committing himself while trying to minimize (?) fold equity. I personally couldn't find a fold here. But a) I don't play 109s, and b) I'm not very good. I don't know though. It's a pretty wierd raise. Maybe you made the right play. EDIT: Shoot, for some reason I read this as a 109. At a 22, I push here everytime. A lot of people just do stuff because they don't know any better. Unless I have a read on him as solid, I probably don't consider folding here. |

Party 22. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Dealt to Hero [ Qc, Qh ] [/ QUOTE ] Folding is terrible. You're seeing monsters under the bed. Sure, sometimes he'll have AA, KK, or AK (god forbid you have to take the good side coinflip with an overlay!). The majority of times at this level he will have a hand against which you're at least a 2:1 favorite. |

[/ QUOTE ] I've noticed a lot of players doing this lately. Players that should know better. And they are doing it way too often for it to be AA/KK. So I'd push here 100% of the time. |

Re: Was this a terrible fold?
I've seen AA, 88 and all hands inbetween, and they 99% call the push too. (Always with AA obviously..)
