Re: QQ on K flop, heads up
(Posting before reading other posts, let's see how I do...)
I would raise the flop. Re-raised, call and fold turn UI. If just called, the turn becomes trickier. I would probably, fold to a bet. If checked to, I'd bet and fold to a raise. If check-bet-call, then I'd check behind on the river..... |

[ QUOTE ]
Sometimes calling down really is the best plan when the pot is large and you're either way ahead or way behind. It allows you to induce a bluff from an aggressive player, when a raise from you allows all better hands to 3-bet and worse hands to fold. [/ QUOTE ] Is it me, but I hate calling down? The SB raised a limper pre-flop. Even for isolation, he's got something. 10-10 or J-J are a couple of your best cases. On the flop, you don't know where you're at. Calling down seems like spewing chips. Raise, and either take control of the hand or figure out you can let it go.... |

Re: QQ on K flop, heads up
I don't see how you can do anything else but call down. No raise anywhere, just call down.

Re: QQ on K flop, heads up
The reasons i rasie the turn here are
1. I fold to a three bet 2. If i call down and am behind i am usally paying 2 bets anway- raising here will get a pair of Kings to fold x% of the time. 3. He may be on a flush draw/straight draw and this way he gets charged the most. |

Re-looking at it, he could be on a flush draw. Reviewing the action, flop and beyond (my scenario)...Villian bets the flop, Hero raises, Villian calls. Turn, what do you do if Villian leads on the A??? If checked to, I'd bet and think I'd have to give it up on a c/r. Thoughts? |

Re: QQ on K flop, heads up
I would raise the flop and hope I cant take a free card on 4th street. If you're three bet on the flop, you can call, and fold the turn against a player of normal aggression.

you say you should take a free card on the turn? but 1st you said to raise the flop as you probably have the best hand,so why would you then check the turn? [/ QUOTE ] Hero is either way ahead or way behind on this 4th street card. There are no overcards that matter. It sucks to give freecards given the flush draw, but heads up Im not too concerned about that. I definitely like the check on 4th street once an ace falls. |

Re: QQ on K flop, heads up
This is Party Poker 1/2s. The majority of players in a pot are lags, who only know agression. You need to call down your marginal hands.

Re: QQ on K flop, heads up
I raise this flpo every time. This allows you to gain info and see where you are at. If he reraises I'm folding the turn UI. If he just calls then I am betting the turn and taking a free showdown. If he checkraises the turn fold and let the swears fly
