Are the 45 person $1 + ,20 tournies at Poker Stars beatable\"
Bad Structure (average final table stack is 10 big blinds)
Payouts are kind of flat: 14 10 7 5 4 3 2 Rake is high. |

I am sure they are. I haven't tried them. However, I don't see how you could make more than $10/hour 7-tabling them and you would have to be a strong player to do that.

Re: Are theat Poker Stars beatable\"
well, it was a question for a friend. He's a decent player and has about $5 on Stars and asked me what to do with it. He hates limit games.

Re: Are theat Poker Stars beatable\"
There's $0.01/$0.02 blind No-limit cash games on stars too. Have him buy-in for $1 at these tables. Too much risk of a dry-spell on the multi-table SNGs.

Re: Are theat Poker Stars beatable\"
They are very very soft, but I don't think you can make that much of a profit on them, plus the rake becomes a killer if you are only starting with $5.
I stick to .01/.02 NL Hold'em in your friends scenario. |

Re: Are theat Poker Stars beatable\"
I told him to do that, but he is spoiled. He won a 2000 freeroll a few years ago, and I think he now finds his "thrill" in playing in do-or-die, top heavy, big money payout, such as the tournies.
I'm pretty sure he will go broke, but who knows if he runs well. |

I mean, it's like, say you win - that's about two and a half hours for 14 bucks. Do the math - they might be fun, but you'd make more as a 'sandwich artist' at Subway FWIW, I like to play in these to blow off some steam. Push any playable hand, and I either bust or bully. |

I played 4 or 5. Very soft. Somehow KT is a highly respected hand in these games.

If you make it down to the bubbl with a decent sized stack you can bully almost everyone since all of the players in it are focused on getting into the money and have no idea you are pickpocketing their blinds.

Re: Are the 45 person $1 + ,20 tournies at Poker Stars beatable\"
I enjoyed those and probably turned 60 bucks profit on the SnGs, and lost about 75 bucks in the cash games : )
Hence I stopped playing online poker for a while, except freerolls on pokerstars that qualify into real-money tourneys... |
