i think this was asked before but im still hazy on it.
Arent these WSOP circuit events just the same as any other big poker event leading up to a $10,000 buyin main event. Seems they are just like any other one, except they are trying to leverage the WSOP name even though its not the WSOP..... |

From my understanding it is to give ESPN programming to counter the WPT. They see the rating that WPT is getting a want a piece of that action. Harrah's owns WSOP but ESPN has the broadcast rights.

Do the winners (or top x # of finishers) in these circuit events win entries into the WSOP main event as well? Not sure but I thought I read that somewhere.

The top 20 in points out of all the tournaments at each WSOP Circuit stop get into ESPN's Tournament of Champions (along with the WSOP ME final table).
