Settle a bet
So my friend and I made a 10% swap on a tourny.
I limped into the money and he went out early. My prize was 50, entry 20, so I say net = $30, his percent = $3. He says he should get $5. Who's right? Please respond, because there's $2 riding on this, and we've agreed to let 2+2 settle it. Thanks. |

Re: Settle a bet
Unless he paid 10% of your buyin, he gets 5% of the net win. I say you're right.

He should get $5. No questions. Don't be cheap.

Re: Settle a bet
This might seem like a smartass approach, but...
Gross: You: +$50 Him: +$0 Result: You give him $5 Net: You: +$30 Him: -$20 Result: You give him $3 as 10% of your net amount, and he gives you -$2 as 10% of his net amount. Still means you give him $5. |

Re: Settle a bet
Yup, it's 5$. I had a similar deal with a friend in a 100k guaranted tourney. Buy-in was 200+20, and he ended making 200. He didn't want to give me my 10% because he was arguing he was 20$ under. Perhaps you should agree on this before the tourney starts.
