TT overpair - capped on flop
I'll try to post this one in stages. But what I'm primarily concerned with is, is capping the flop the right decision?
Sorry for the format -- Absolute doesn't seem to work on bisonbison at present even though it's listed for LHE ring games. Sorry also for no specific reads. (I'm new to 2-tabling.) In general Absolute's 50c/$1 seems to have pretty competent opponents; then again, Pacific is my point of reference so everything seems tough compared to there. Absolute Poker 50c/$1 Limit Hold 'em Seat 1 - Hero $19.50 in chips Seat 2 - EP3 $8.85 in chips Seat 3 - MP1 $37.65 in chips Seat 4 - MP2 $49.25 in chips Seat 5 - CO $8.45 in chips Seat 6 - Button $18.35 in chips Seat 7 - SB $27.75 in chips Seat 8 - Villain $29.45 in chips Seat 9 - UTG $19.47 in chips *** BLIND [dealer 6] *** SB - Post small blind $0.25 Villain - Post big blind $0.50 Hero - Pocket [10h,10d] UTG - Folds Hero - Raises $0.50 to $1 EP3 - Folds MP1 - Folds MP2 - Folds CO - Folds Button - Folds SB - Folds Villain - Calls $0.50 *** FLOP [7h,8c,4c] *** Villain - Bets $0.50 Hero - Raises $0.50 to $1 Villain - Raises $0.50 to $1.50 Hero - Raises $0.50 to $2 Villain - Calls $0.50 (Turn, river, and showdown to follow.) |

Good flop cap. I'm surprised you're having problems with the converter. I've successfully used it to post many hands from Absolute.

Re: TT overpair - capped on flop
87 is a real possibility for the villain here--worse would bet a set--but your cap is good.
Anyway, if the villain leads the turn, call and hope the board pairs on the river. If the villain checks, bet again and call a check-raise, showdown. |

Re: TT overpair - capped on flop
Looks good so far.
Try to put it into bison's converter with out the #################################### stuff at the top...I think that's what screws it up. |

Re: TT overpair - capped on flop
I dont think that you needed to cap this flop HU.
You already raised villain's initial flop bet, which could have meant that he had top pair, a flush or straight draw. His 3-bet suggests that he may have 2 pair or better. In any event, capping the flop is unlikely to make him fold and wont really provide you with any additional information regarding the strength of his hand. Also you need to bear in mind, that if you are behind that apart from a runner runner straight that you only have 2 outs to improve to a set. I dont think that capping the flop is a terrible mistake because it only costs you one small bet. However, I think that I would have just called villain's 3-bet and waited to see the turn. |

Re: TT overpair - capped on flop
I think you overplayed the TTs and wouldnt cap the flop. I would think the BB would call you without reraising with small/med pair, siuted connectors, suited cards, or even slow play strong hands. Based on his re-raising you I dont think he is on a draw. Dont think there is equity to do that heads up thus I think the flop hit him in the face. He either has the str8 or a set.
I call his re-raise hope for a 3rd 10 and if not fold. I would appreciate at some point feed back on the hand reading as I am trying to improve my skill and the feed bcak would be helpfull. Thanks |

[/ QUOTE ] Once upon a time, there was no bison converter. We typed the hands out manually. It took about a minute. You don't need the fancy colors and the uniform formatting. You just need to make it easily readable. |

Re: TT overpair - capped on flop
I wouldn't cap the flop. He came out betting into the pf raiser, maybe that's his idea of defending his blind from an UTG+1 raise. His 3-bet is trying to tell you something. If one of your 10's was a club, I'd feel better about your chances to win this at showdown (maybe). I call the 3-bet on the flop and see what the turn brings.
