Re: Porsche \"freeroll\" on Party

[ QUOTE ] The taxes on that car would be so ridiculous. Hope the person who's lucky enough to win the car is strapped. [/ QUOTE ] When Empire did (does still maybe) a Porsche tournament for VIP, you could choose to take the car or $40,000. A Zoo'er won it once and took the loot. [/ QUOTE ] surely that car is worth more than $40k ? Or are Porsches dirt cheap in the US? |

Re: Porsche \"freeroll\" on Party
Most porsches go for around 90k+ in the US. The taxes aren't the full value of the car though hence the 30k number.

http://www.partypoker.com/news/event...rrera911s.html Woo! You can win a car! It's a free entry! Oh, all you have to do is play 10k RAKED hands in a month. [/ QUOTE ] Bet365 Poker are also running a pretty sweet freeroll tournament this summer. No entry requirement and $20,000 up for grabs. It's held every Saturday in July, and replaces their regular weekly $5,000 freeroll. The winner takes down $2,500. Not bad to get a bankroll started. |

The taxes would be in the $30-$35K range. That is more than I want to pay for any car. [/ QUOTE ] how do you come up with those figures? just curious how the tax on a car could be so high. |

Depending where you live, selling a 90K car can be a bit of work. I am guessing you are going to have pay the local porsche dealership to help you out. And you will still need to pay the income taxes and most likely the sales tax/registration fee. You will still make money but it will be a less than if they just gave you the cash. |

Re: Porsche \"freeroll\" on Party
You could sell it easily on ebay...
I'm sure there would be 100's of people waiting to bid on your Porsche if they could get it 10k below retail. |

Re: Porsche \"freeroll\" on Party
I think you guys are putting the cart before the horse (in fact I know you are). Win the car and THEN worry about the 'problem' of having won it. lol

You aren't as cool as the guy on here who used his poker winnings to buy a Crossfire. (45Kish)

Re: Porsche \"freeroll\" on Party
If you read Party's terms it says that sales tax is included for the state so it's 100% free
