Canadians can\'t withdraw in American Funds?
I am Canadian and therefore all of my bankroll withdrawls are converted from $US to $CDN.
However, I'm going to Vegas at the end of this month. Accordingly, I'll need American Dollars during trip... to play poker with, and for general vacation expenses. I was going to set up another bank account in American funds(either through my regular bank or ING), and simply withdraw some of my online bankroll directly as American dollars. This way, I would be spared the exchange rate of transferring the money in and out of Canadian dollars. However, I was just informed by Neteller Support that this is not possible. They say that Canadians can only have their Neteller accounts connected to Canadian Banks in Canadian funds. That sucks. Looks like I'm going to have to do the following: * Cash out $US from my roll into $CDN (as usual) * Exchange my $CDN for $US to take on vacation * Whatever money I have left over in $US will have to tranferred back into $CDN. That's getting hit with exchange rates THREE damn times!! Fckers. Anyone have any other suggestions, or am I screwed? Adam |

.... not only that, but at some point I was hoping to accumulate enough of a roll to save in an ING account for the good interest rate they provide.
Looks like that plan's shot too..... Adm |

Do you know any Vegas 2+2ers you trust that could help you out? A money transfer would be the easiest solution.
Of course there's the Kaz the Original factor.... |

Re: Canadians can\'t withdraw in American Funds?
Would it be possible for you to set up another online wallet (such as Firepay) and have them only deal in USD? It's possible you might be able to find one that would be more cooperative. What I'm thinking you could do is set up your ING account, link the new wallet to that, move your money from Neteller to a site, then from that site to your new wallet. You might need to play a little online in between the deposit and the withdrawal (so they don't think you're treating them as a bank), and you might also need to make a deposit via the new wallet in order to be able to withdraw to it.

Re: Canadians can\'t withdraw in American Funds?
Yeah I used to get Neteller to cut me a cheque and my bank would cash the US cheque and I would go to a cheque cashing place that gave me a higher rate than my bank. After a while my bank refused to cash the Neteller cheques on the spot anymore though......

Re: Canadians can\'t withdraw in American Funds?
Instead of cashing out from NETeller, cash out from one of the sites you play at and have them send a cheque (in US dollars.) At the bank, you can cash the cheque and have them give you US dollars straight up. I've done this a couple of times for trips to Vegas.
I guess you probably won't be able to get a cheque by the end of the month, but maybe next time... |

Re: Canadians can\'t withdraw in American Funds?
I had your problem a while ago. What I do is wire US funds to Neteller.I only have a US account at Neteller for which I keep reasonable balances. When I request a payout I am sent a US cheque.I went to my Canadian bank and opened a US account there. Now I withdraw US funds when I want to go to the USA or wire funds to Neteller which I rarely do.

What about getting the neteller debit card and using that to get money in the US?
