Anyone have info on Deadwood, SD?
Heading out to Rapid City in a couple weeks and will be spending a day in Deadwood. I know there's gambling aplenty out there, but I have no idea what to expect. Some casinos claim to have poker rooms, but that's about where the internet info ends.
Specific questions: Which casinos, if any, spread Hold 'Em? Limits/Rake structures? Also, I may play some video poker if the right deal is offered. Do any casinos offer 9/6 Jacks or (dream on) FPDW? Thanks in advance. |

Saloon number 10
Saloon number 10 is where I play in Deadwood when
vacationing, but I play the $2/10 stud/8 spreadlimit game. They also spread Hold Em, and sometimes stud high only. A fun place to play, lot's of character, lot's of characters also. Check out Wild Bill's death chair on the wall. Don't forget to fold Aces & eights, and keep your back to the wall. The poker games are dealt in 100 year old bars on the main street of Deadwood. The main drag is only 4 or 5 blocks, so it's easy to find the poker games. The games, and Deadwood in general, are a lot of fun and a great place to spend a few days. Sorry, never played the VP. A few others that come to mind: Miss Kitty's, Gold Dust, and the Franklin Hotel. |

I hate to refer anyone to RGP as much as the next guy, but there's a recent thread there about this. You can access RGP easily at liveactionpoker.com, deja.com, or recpoker.com.

Re: Saloon number 10
Thanks for the reply. I definitely plan on checking out Saloon #10, and if I can play there, that's all the better.
Thanks for the heads-up on the other places, too. With so many casinos in that town, it really helps to narrow it to a shorter list to start with. |
