Re: Party .5/1 hand, from a new player\'s perspective
hinducow,
dont worry about it, live and learn. on my 2nd day of O/8 i would have lost more than you did on that hand. i think a lot of people here on their 2nd days would have as well. take the advice from this forum, invest in a couple of books, and learn as you did at HE. nice handle btw. temp |

Re: Party .5/1 hand, from a new player\'s perspective
Preflop:
New O/8 players think four connected cards look nice. But middle cards are bad. It is difficult to make the nuts in either direction. Keep in mind that the object of all high-low games is to scoop the pot. Fold. Flop: Two low cards flopped so the value of all hands has decreased. Your low draw (4-6) is terrible. For high you have a pair of 5's and a mdeiocre straight draw. Fold. Turn: You have trip 5's. This is not a good hand. With bottom trips even if you make a full house you are likely to lose to a bigger full house. When the board pairs players are likely to have full houses already. Fold. River: You have a bad full house for high and a terrible low. Fold. |
