PP NL100 - KK overpair on scary board
It's been a while since I've posted hands, so here goes.
Villain is an uber-LAG and he's on the button. Probably one of the laggiest players I've seen in the NL 100 game in a while (although I haven't got many hands in the last few weeks). He's built his stack with some lucky catches and he has the rest of the table tilting because of it. He's been bullying and showing bluffs. He's like 68/35 over about 100 hands, FWIW. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (10 handed) converter saw flop|saw showdown UTG ($106.7) UTG+1 ($88) Hero ($97.5) MP1 ($17.4) MP2 ($82.9) MP3 ($107.2) CO ($98.15) Villain ($417.13) SB ($276.22) BB ($96) Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 2 folds, Hero raises to $4, 3 folds, CO calls $4, Villain calls $4, SB calls $3.50, BB calls $3. What's the plan, stan? KoW |

Re: PP NL100 - KK overpair on scary board
with so many to the turn, I have a hard time believing this is a pure bluff.
I fold. I think when maniacs do these things on earlier streets its usually a bluff but when its on turn or river, I've been shown down a big hand pretty often. the 2 flush flop makes it a small argument for call but I still fold here. I think you should raise more preflop against maniacs and do it with a wider range of hands. But then again, I'm not the best expert on playing against maniacs. |

I would go for a limp-reraise preflop.

I think you can lay this down thinking that villain is betting his set, and does not want to see anymore straight cards.

Re: PP NL100 - KK overpair on scary board
i also limp reraise pf.
on this turn, im folding. im also not that concerned about if i was ahead or not. by folding you set yourself up real nice for a big check raise on this guy when you have a stronger hand. |

Re: PP NL100 - KK overpair on scary board
I agree with Mark - with an uberLAG in front of you, a raise especially from the button is almost a given. You could have pounded the (probable) suited connector he held out of the pot by a substantial reraise, and taken down the limpers and his raise uncontested.
Post flop, you played it just right - bet it out, and with that many people still in the pot, deposit them quietly in the muck. Dev |

Re: PP NL100 - KK overpair on scary board
When you have a player of this lag-nitude (ok not very funny), what % of the time do you limp re-raise here?

I muck and he shows 62o for 1 pair of 6s.
Bleh.. how does he make that play? KoW |
