How I\'m following the WSOP.
Using Firefox with tabed browsing, a minimal theme and a mouse gestures extension I’m keeping track of the WSOP goings on from the following sites:
Poker Wire- http://pokerwire.com/ A ticker tape of event news that's the best so far. I keep it in its' own window and tab the rest. Pokerpages- http://www.pokerpages.com/index.htm Good old pokerpages. Dedicated blogs from each event well worth reading although less timely than pokerwire plus streaming video interviews that aspires to the quality of a junior high school audio video club. The interviews with "stars" make it watchable, kind of. Cardplayer- http://live.cardplayer.com/ Comprehensive coverage of each event with live updates and good streaming video. The kid interviewer seemed shaky at first but he's gotten the hang of it. Jesse May's streaming web cast is the cheesy train wreck you'd expect but before you know it you've watched the entire segment. Pokertrails- http://www.pokertrails.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=4 Blog that covered the $1500 limit and no limit holdem well but seems to have gone cold. I think the lone poster burned out. Worth keeping each event on a tab if he gets more staff or asks Alice for the pills that mother gives you and single handedly blogs with superhuman effort. Poker Updates- http://www.pokerupdates.com/index.html Somebody spent money on this site but it seems to be flying under the radar, the forums are studies in arctic desolation. Streaming video interviews from the event and the poker world in general. Audio updates by Rick “Davoice” Charles have potential. I like the monthly streaming video e-mails they send out but they seem to have missed a march on WSOP coverage. I keep many sites open, 8 or more, and update them by right clicking a tab and reloading all at once. Right click a link and open in a new tab. You can save the open webpages with tools> options> homepage, omit the threads, they go stale. At 1600 x 1200 resolution you can follow the event on many sites and multitable. Use the mouse gestures 1.0 extension to navigate the tabs and increase the text size. The only gesture commands you need are right click diagonal down release to increase text, opposite to decrease. Right click horizontal left or right release to move back and forward on a website. Right click 90 degree angle up left or up right release to navigate through the tabs. |
