In High Fidelity, when John Cusack has just been dumped by his girlfriend and Jack Black plays "Walking on sunshine". That totally cracked me up

A lot of great choices here. One of my favorites has always been "Under Pressure" in Grosse Pointe Blanke when John Cusack is face to face with the baby and has his epiphany (just prior to him killing another assassin at the High School reunion while "99 Luftballons" is playing).

"The Big Chill"
You Can't Always Get What You Want; during the opening funeral scenes. Trivia: Who was cast as the dead friend, but never shown in flashbacks that the director didn't put in the final film. ( His body was still shown being prepped for the funeral ) Tim |

Save Me--Magnolia, at the very end. John Reilly's character is talking to the woman, the song is playing, and he's trying to express himself, and she's resisting, and then he finally gets through to her and she cracks a tiny smile and the chorus kicks in and the movie's over. This last one is probably my favorite. [/ QUOTE ] This is great. I also like the part between "act 2" and "act 3" (forget the real names) when everyone sings "wise up." It's really kind of wonderful, like nothing we've ever seen before in movies... bk |

[/ QUOTE ] Exactly, and great also on its own merits, not just for the novelty of never having been done before. I'm glad someone else caught the final scene reference, because I think if you zoned out for the last ten seconds of the movie, you'd be missing a huge part of the point. |
