Aggravating KJ hand
Brand new to the table, 2nd or 3rd hand since I sat down.
PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is MP1 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. MP2 posts a blind of $0.25. 2 folds, UTG+2 calls, Hero calls, MP2 (poster) checks, MP3 calls, CO calls, Button calls, SB completes, BB raises, UTG+2 calls, Hero calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, Button calls, SB calls. Flop: (16 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (8 players) SB bets, BB calls, UTG+2 calls, Hero calls, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO calls, Button calls. Turn: (11.50 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (7 players) SB bets, BB folds, UTG+2 calls, Hero calls, MP3 folds, CO raises, Button folds, SB 3-bets, UTG+2 folds, Hero folds, CO calls. River: (19.50 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, CO bets, SB calls $0.50 (All-In). Final Pot: 21.50 BB Needless to say I would have won this hand, I'd like to at least console myself by saying I did the right thing. Someone obviously likes their hand, it's two bets back to me with only 4 outs to have a real shot at winning (and two of those potentially making someone else a flush). SB is nearly all in, so even if I did catch the 10 I'm not going to get much more money out of him. Good bad or too close to matter? Should I have even been in this far? I think up to that point I was OK, obviously the pre-flop raise was unfortunate. Viper GTS |

Re: Aggravating KJ hand
Why not raise preflop?

Re: Aggravating KJ hand
I usually raise KJo from MP when there is only one limper before me. I am trying to get my aggression stats up so I usually raise/fold if there is no limpers (or just one) before me.

Re: Aggravating KJ hand
Wow I hadn't even considered that.
Probably why I'm still nowhere near aggressive enough. Viper GTS |

Re: Aggravating KJ hand
I have trouble raising KQo and KJo for some reason. It makes me feel very uncomfortable.

Viper GTS [/ QUOTE ] I would not want to be in a multi-way hand out of position with KJo. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but unless you are excellent post-flop I don't like this play. If you are going to play this hand I would rasie preflop. Given your lack of reads I'd muck(at this point I am tighter than most). |

Re: Aggravating KJ hand
heck and I learned it from davidross....
edit: btw, I don't think like "oh, my aggressions stats needs to go up --> I raise". I mean that because I lack aggression preflop, this is pretty good way to increase it. If there is no one in and you have playable hand, think raising. Is this really so bad? |
