I'm not saying that you shouldn't play tournies, but you shouldn't make any decisions after this 6 game test trial. Even if you placed in ALL 6, it would say virtually nothing about your skill.

That strategy guide is good. I play very similar to how it describes.
I completely understand about 6 tournys not being enough. I am just gonna play these 6 then see how i do. If i am going ok then i will continue playing them to build up a big database of statistics.

how many do you think would be enough to start getting accurate stats? 100 ? 200?

As big as it may sound, 500 is considered the minimum mark of statistical significance.

And the reason why people say play the 10+1s is because the rake on the 5+1 is huge and the level or play between the two is the same.

Ok 500 then. i may switch to 10/1 if i feel my stack can take it.
