Re: J9o blind steal
Got to bet that turn, especially if you're new to the table.

Re: J9o blind steal
Against a check-raising type, might you check behind on the turn and call the river UI?

Re: J9o blind steal
I'm betting the turn HU with an OESD, let alone with a pair + OESD. And you've got to call the river bet after checking through the turn.

Re: J9o blind steal
If you're going to commit yourself to a blind steal, you have to realize that you will often be bluffing two postflop streets. Most players will peel one time on the flop because they think you're full of [censored] and then fold to a turn bet.
There are a lot worse situations to be in than having a pair plus an OESD so just bet the turn. |

Re: J9o blind steal
you need to bet the turn. the queen actually helped your pair(one overcard on the flop is now less likely to be held by someone because two are on the board), and you have your OESD. plenty of reasons to bet b/c you very well could have the best hand and if not it can still improve to the best. plus he is getting no odds to call, and many people defending their blinds will pay one cheap sb to see a turn but drop it there. also, if you are raised you are probably up against a Q so you could easily abandon your hand.

Re: J9o blind steal
When I posted this hand I was 90% sure the turn check was a mistake. Now I'm 100% sure. I agree with pretty much everything written in the responses. Thanks guys.
But what about the river fold once the turn is checked through? Luke |
