Nevada Jacks \"Casino Sands.\" Anyone have any problems w/ them chipping
I bought these about 3 months ago and have only used them 7-10 times and they started to chip around the edges. I contacted NJ and they were really nice and helpfull and stood by there product. They sent me replacement chips with a one for one exchange. I was a little upset because I wanted a few more of each color for additional replacement chips. Anyway, they sent me new chips with a return label to return the chipped ones. But when they arrived 10 of THOSE were chipped as well. These are ceramic composite chips. Is this typical of these types of chips. They said on thier site that some big casiono's carried these chips. I can't beleive they would put chips like these in play at a casino. Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE these chips but I don't want a year to go by and have a bunch of chips that are are beat up. Do you think I should:
a) try to get a refund and look else where b) try a whole new set of chips from NJ c) just replace the new chips that are chipped d) quit crying and play poker these are about as bad as it gets. some don't show the white. |

I think ceramic in general doesn't hold up anywhere as well as clay. I have some chipcos and a few have small dents, but nothing like those. I have seen chipcos like those in casinos though.
Are you sure your players aren't a little rough on them? |

Im always at the table when used and I have never seen anything that should cause this. Some pot splashing but not tossing way up in the air or anything.

Wow, I've never seen a real close up pic of those chips. They look great if they would actually hold up with some abuse.

If these were my chips...
I wouldn't accept this willingly. I would ask NJ if this is normal for their ceramic chips. If so, I would ask them to replace them with another line of chips. If they care about customer service, and by replacing the original chips it seems like they do, then they should accomidate you. Thanks for posting these pics, and please let us know what they say. I was considering buying some ceramics, but if they don't hold up any better than this I may have to reconsider. |

Out of 500 chips about 25 or so have problems and only about 10 or so are as bad as the pics. Also, it seems as if its mostly the blues. %90 of the problem chips are the blues ($1.00). |

That looks like a quality problem with one batch of blues. I have many NJs and Chipcos, with only some minor chips/dings on the edges. It happens with lots of handling.
BTW for those of you who like pics, here are some close-ups of ceramics: |

Re: Nevada Jacks \"Casino Sands.\" Anyone have any problems w/ them chipping
Update:
Contacted NJ about these damaged chips they sent me to replace the damaged chips I already had. They told me to send them ALL the damaged chips and that they will send me new ones to replace these. Getting to be a pain, send this, wait for this, send this...etc. They are being decent about this though considering I didn't buy from them directly. I bought from 5stardeal. I can't complain about the service. I just don't want to be a year from now with a lot of banged up chips. |

Mess the rest around in a pillowcase or something. If there are defects that will probably bring them out. Then you can send all of the chipped ones back and be confident about the others.
