Re: Gotta love action like this right?
[ QUOTE ]
Do you realize that the person that 3 bet the turn is not the person that raised the river? [/ QUOTE ] Yes. And your river bet will get callers from worse hands more often then MP2 will bet as a bluff when you check. But if you bet and get raised it won't even have to be a bluff 3% of the time for making check/call a better line, right? A little off the subject. Can't there be circumstances where you can cap the turn and check the turn since your turn cap can't be raised and your river bet can? |

Re: Gotta love action like this right?
[ QUOTE ]
I will admit that I have no idea what a .05/.10 game is like. I have only mad eposts regarding this hand on the assumption taht the players understood the rules of limit hold'em and the ranking of various poker hands. [/ QUOTE ] If we ignore the limit and assume we did the turn cap for value (some read on the opponents making it profitable) I like your line. |

You're suggesting that we treat the raise as a given that we can account for before we bet, but obviously we are not going to get raised everytime we bet the river. [ QUOTE ] A little off the subject. Can't there be circumstances where you can cap the turn and check the turn since your turn cap can't be raised and your river bet can? [/ QUOTE ] I assume you mean cap the turn and check the river. And yes ther can. If you have something like a flush draw on the turn and it is 8 ways, a turn cap would be for value with a hand that has no value at showdown. I don't think there is any situation where I'd cap the turn and check the river when I was planning to showdown my hand unimproved. |

Re: Gotta love action like this right?
i think the limit that is being played is very relevant to the argument and i would definately call on the river confident at this limit that this is profitable in the long run.
