Re: Gotta love action like this right?

[ QUOTE ] On the river, I'm folding without a second though. [/ QUOTE ] I'll probably get a flaming for this... but the pot is just too big to fold this away... I gotta check/call the river. [/ QUOTE ] no flaming at all. that board sucks for our hand, but this pot is just way too big. Check calling here works as we should be good 1-35 times or something like that in the 30s here |

Re: Gotta love action like this right?
I don't understand why you guys are check/calling the river. What makes you all of the sudden not want to value bet, but then willing to call when a guy who has shown 0 aggression throughout the hand wakes up and bets?

Re: Gotta love action like this right?
Do you realize that he may use some descretion when betting? If he will automatically bet any 2 cards that he may be holding than your plan makes a lot of sense. However, I doubt that he would eve bet top pair at this point. Since he's not betting top pair, and I really doubt he has an overpair, that leaves nothing but a set of hands that can beat your AA.
Check-calling this river is not good. |

Re: Gotta love action like this right?
While I don't mean to sound arrogant, you're really doing yourself a disservice by agreeing to disagree with me.
If you put everyone on ranges of hands and then consider the ranges of hands that will bet versus those that will check behind, it should be apparent that check-calling is a very, very bad plan on the river. |

Re: Gotta love action like this right?
not when you consider the caliber of player... .05/.10 ... I started out playing those limits... you WILL see hands here from MP2 that you beat.

[/ QUOTE ] I agree folding the river at this limit will tough. But I also believe the disagreement is pretty much caused by the hand being overly aggressive played on previous streets. Both of you would probably call the turn 3-bet and then check/call the river, right? |

Re: Gotta love action like this right?
Do you realize that the person that 3 bet the turn is not the person that raised the river?
Yes, I would call the turn 3 bet. If The turn 3 bettor checked the river I would bet and fold to a raise. |

Re: Gotta love action like this right?
I will admit that I have no idea what a .05/.10 game is like. I have only mad eposts regarding this hand on the assumption taht the players understood the rules of limit hold'em and the ranking of various poker hands.
I don't think bringing the limits into the hand discussion is really important. I have no doubt that MP will call w/ hands far worse than AA, but I don't believe he will raise w/ those hands when we bet, not do I think he's likely enough to bet with them when we check. |
