Cannot login to Party, Zone Alarm/Avast Antivirus issue?
I'm hoping someone else here has run into this problem. I am running Zone Alarm (free version) and Avast Antivirus (also free), and as of the latest Avast update I am no longer able to login to Party or Empire Poker. Short of un-installing these programs, does anyone know how I can work around this issue? (I know my Party account is fine because I can log in from another PC.)

Re: Cannot login to Party, Zone Alarm/Avast Antivirus issue?
I don't use these programs in particular, but zone alarm should have a configuration where you manually allow applications to go through the firewall. The executable for Partypoker should be listed as "blocked" or as an "allowed" application.

ZA should prompt to allow or deny Party access to the internet.
It could be your anti-virus, turn it off and try it. |

Re: Cannot login to Party, Zone Alarm/Avast Antivirus issue?
This is correct, and it is 'allowed' to connect. I've been running both for months now. Something changed with the Avast update a couple days ago and I can no longer connect to Party now. I ran across something that vaguely suggested there was some new issue between Zone Alarm and Avast but I cannot figure out a way around it.

Re: Cannot login to Party, Zone Alarm/Avast Antivirus issue?
Did you try to disable ZA and Avast one at the time and see if you can connect? If this does not work, did you try un-install Party and try it again.
Un-install Avast/disable ZA and re-install Party? Is this only an issue with Party? JAque |

Becareful turning off ZA.
Last time I did I have to reload my drive image. Of course, my computer was riddled with [censored] too. |

Re: Cannot login to Party, Zone Alarm/Avast Antivirus issue?
I'm trying to avoid having to go through uninstalls on ZA and Avast. I have tried turning off Zone Alarm and Avast protection separately, but it made no difference for Party or Empire. I suppose there is a chance they were not completely shutdown as I did not stop either program entirely. Instead I disabled the various services like Webscan, Email scan, etc. Perhaps I can try that next.
