Default 20/40, 40/80, 50/100 NL at the Mecca

I have played a ton with Phil lately in the 20/40, 40/80 and 50/100 NL at Commerce, the later of course being set up with Tobey's presence.

Funny how all these cats be talking all this yang when they have never played with "known" poker pros because they have rarely played high enough.

From my observations, his NL cash game is tight, yes I have seen him make insane moves that have gotten there, but his self proclaimation of being a "squeezer with moves" is pretty accurate.

For all you sideliners out there, stop speculating and start participating...

Who cares about results? He has a really cool persona as "The Unabomber". What else do you want, really?

How often are the 20/40 and higher games going? How would you characterize the average weekend games in terms of stack sizes and player types?

This is nothing compared to all the great commentary that comes up about the players in the 1k/2k to 4k/8k games.

Thanks. Sounds pretty much the same as descriptions of his play in the 10-10-20 game up here.

I don't really care how he does in ring games. His time in the spotlight should have been up along time ago given his results in tourneys.

i have also been playing alot of no-limit with phil lately.
mostly 25-50 and 50-100 at the commerce.

his play is definately solid.

as for your questions diablo...the games at the commerce are excellent.

the 20-40 NL goes everyday, and the 50-100 goes semi-regularly.

there are about three guys who have to come in, in order for the 50-100 to get started, and toby is one of them.

as for the stack sizes and pot sizes, in the 20-40 game it ranges from ~5K to ~25K and sometimes you'll have a couple of insanely deep stacks.

last night i was playing the 50-100 with phil, steve burel (the director of mighty ducks and a couple of other flicks), and one other really rich buisnessman (one of the ppl i mentioned who usually gets the game started).

i was sitting behind 25K and was the short stack most of the night (that is until i doubled through ).

also to jkinetic... we must have played together a bunch...i don't know if you care to share your identity but i'm there a bunch so if you want, pm me and let me know who you are and i'll say hello next time i see you.

Whether or not Laak becomes a citizen of Bolivia is beside the point; that "Hollywood Hold 'em" show is terrible.

laak said my all time favorite line in any televised poker event.

it was when he was all-in with humberto brenes and he needed any club 9 or Queen to win the hand and he tells the dealer, "he owns a mountain (brenes) and i got like an old car!"

i've played it a few times, and its been a combination of playing with the stake and on my own.

the game has been really good a couple of times so i took a shot by myself and did well.
