my greatest suckout....do you play the same?
This is shorthanded, but micro seems to be the best spot these days for the .5/1 and 1/2 6max games.
SB is LP-P PokerStars 0.50/1.00 Hold'em (6 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is BB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 4 folds, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: (2 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls. Turn: (2 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, Hero 3-bets, SB caps, Hero calls. River: (10 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, Hero caps, SB calls. Final Pot: 18 BB Results in white below: SB has Ac Jc (flush, ace high). Hero has 7c 9d (straight flush, ten high). Outcome: Hero wins 18 BB. What do you think about the turn 3-bet? Would you fold a non-club river? |

Re: my greatest suckout....do you play the same?
Why would you fold this easily in a 6 max game? If you fear 3f lushes this much against a little aggression, you are playing too tight for these types of games. 3bet is good on the turn. For all SB knows, you were bluffing the flop and he just hit a low 2pair or even a pair of 10's. After the cap, you should be a little concerned but still call the river.

Re: my greatest suckout....do you play the same?
I fold the turn when it is raised back to me. This is not a hand I expect to win very often and its a small pot. 5BB back to you on the turn from someone screaming made flush. TP doesn't check the flop. You are behind if he has J9 (1 out to win 2 to split). That's not a lot of outs for a pot laying 1-5.
edit: I don't play 6 handed often, so that might change things. |

I don't consider this a suckout, I mean really. You 3-bet the turn, that was your closest call. You had to call the cap afterwards.

But he says the guy is a LP-P from his stats. That type of opponent showing no fear means he has the nuts or something very close to it.

Re: my greatest suckout....do you play the same?
yeah, this isn't really a suckout, more a series of very fortunate cards.
Also SB should have raised PF. |

Re: my greatest suckout....do you play the same?
Yes, passive. If he is only raising with the nuts, then you can back down, but if he still raises with other big hands then you shouldn't question continuing. A more specific read than "passive" would be helpful.

[ QUOTE ]
why would you fold a non club river? [/ QUOTE ] I never said I would. It's a suckout because I was way behind, drawing to 1 out on the river. I feel like I played the hand fine, and I would have called down UI, but there's certainly room for argument. For instance, I wasn't comfortable when the 3-flush turn came capped back at me by a LP-P (66/0/0.6). I'm not convinced that folding to SB's cap is a horrible play. Does anyone make that fold? |
