Re: Online poker is still thriving....BIGTIME
I got those from pokerpulse.
I admit I didn't include tourneys, which is actually probably a similar number, and I haven't read their selection methods. Buster's 5% is starting to look better to be honest. On 2+2 you can find from "Who's online" the number of registered and unregistered users. Lori |

Just looked again.

Then take into account the number of people who read here, but to be honest aren't the greatest players in the world or are just starting out. I do think that Busters 5% is a very optimistic number.

Re: Online poker is still thriving....BIGTIME
If you stick to the #RP figure for each site, that's the number of ring game players at the time that you look.
All the rest becomes easy if you start with that one. Lori |

At the time of this post: 574 people reading 2+2 14578 ring game seats occupied at Party/Skins 18936 tourney game seats occupied at Party/Skins. We could debate all night about the average tables/player but I think around 2 is fair, as even many casual players play 2 tables. This doesn't fall massively short of the 5% figure, but of course not all 2+2ers play Party. Lori |

[ QUOTE ] As I posted a couple of days back, there are already more people registered at 2+2 than play on Party at prime time. [/ QUOTE ] How many of those users are still active, and when is the last time we had 65k users logged on at the same time here at 2+2? We are still a small fraction of poker base, however, it is possible that the 2+2 community might be growing faster (percentage wise) than some of the larger sites now. I have no idea what the numbers are so I can't say. [/ QUOTE ] From the main forums page: [ QUOTE ] Max users online was 872 @ 02/07/05 03:33 PM [/ QUOTE ] As of now (7 PM Eastern), we have 560 people on the site. Note that these numbers include a large percentage of non-registered people. |

Dare I ask what the first two times were?
One was a skewed sample of people that I know who have stopped watching poker on tv compared to those who started (Although a lot of people started again last night after a few IM's got sent) The other was thinking that it was just one Prima skin running the channel 226 live show games. Edit: I'll go back to researching and thinking before I post, it worked better that way. Lori |
